About Colin

I am a Consultant Obstetrician and Maternal-Fetal Medicine specialist, and a Fellow of the Royal Australian & New Zealand College of Obstetricians & Gynaecologists.  As a North Shore obstetrician, I can deliver your baby at North Shore Private Hospital or the Mater Hospital and will see you for your antenatal visits in my rooms in St Leonards.

I have higher qualifications and extensive experience in high-risk pregnancy care and female pelvic floor disorders, having completed fellowships in both of these areas.  My advanced training gives me the expertise to care for every kind of pregnancy, whether your pregnancy is completely low-risk or very complex.

Prior to moving into full-time private practice, I was a Senior Staff Specialist in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Royal North Shore Hospital, where I spent 5 years running the high-risk antenatal / medical disorders in pregnancy clinic.

Prior to returning to Sydney in 2013 with my lovely Australian wife, I worked in specialist maternity units in Dublin, New York and Cambridge. These are some of the busiest and most respected obstetric hospitals worldwide, allowing me to offer you a fresh and contemporary international perspective on best-practice pregnancy care.
Having completed a busy two-year fellowship in high-risk obstetrics at the National Maternity Hospital in Dublin, I am one of only 15 or so accredited Maternal-Fetal Medicine specialists (experts in high-risk pregnancy) in New South Wales. I also undertook a 3-year fellowship in the renowned Pelvic Floor Unit at St George Hospital Sydney, caring for women with pelvic floor problems before, during and after pregnancy.
In addition to my clinical experience, I am very active in teaching and research. I have published more than 90 scientific papers, written chapters for major medical textbooks, acted as a reviewer for international medical journals and written a guest editorial for the British Medical Journal. I hold a PhD from the University of New South Wales, for which I was awarded a prestigious international scholarship. I regularly teach medical students and junior doctors and have been invited to give lectures to GPs, midwives and other obstetricians, both in Australia and internationally.
